BRIEF HISTORY OF THE COMPANY

Akai Impex limited, an existing profit making Comp. is a Government recognised 'Trading House' enaged in the export of textiles, garments, dyes & chemicals, pharmaceuticals & engineering goods. The Comp. is also a bulk indentor of Partially Oriented Yarn & Polyester Filament Yarn inthe domestic market.

The Comp. was incorporated in 1977 as a private limited Comp. & became a deemed Public Comp. w.e.f. 1.7.89 & subsequently converted into fully fledged Public Limited Comp. on 5.2.93 & Certificate obtained on 4.8.94.

The Comp. was initially set up to promote sale of engineering items including bicycles, diesel engines, agricultural implements & spares parts. The Comp. has subsequently diversified into the trading of textiles, garments, dyes & chemicals, pharmaceuticals, etc. On Acc. of its export performance, in 1992 Akai was recognised as a 'Trading House' by Government of India. Over the years, the Comp. has developed a base of International affiliates & has set up a net work of associates in several countries.

PRESENT BUSINESS

The Company export operations are currently dividend into four divisions viz engineering [including custom made forging etcs]. textiles [including polyester texturised yarns, made-ups ready made garments, fabrics etcs] chemicals [dyes & intermediates, pharmaceuticalss] & global tendering for projects. Each division is headed by a Vice President, Besides undertakings merchant exports, Akai is also actively engaged in procuring raw Materials & getting them coverted from other units/manufacturers. This is particularly prevalent in engineering & textile divisions which together constitute bulk of its turnover.

The Comp. is also a bulk indenter of Partially Oriented Yarn [POYs] in the domestic market. The Comp. acts as sole selling agents in india for POY for Tainan Spinning Comp. limited [TSLs] Nanya Plastics Ltd., Taiwan & various other reputed spinners of Taiwan, Korea & Indonesia. It has supplied POY to most of indigenous consumers. Thus, if has wide experience in trading & dealing in POY Industry.

Akai Impex Ltd was the pioneer Comp. to start export of texturised yarns from india, during the last three years, it has exported PFY yarns to various countries like Vietnam, Sri. Lanka, Bangladesh Singpore, Afghanistan, erstwhile U.S.S.R, U.K., & Egypt etc.

Though the Comp. doesn't have any manufacturing base of its own, it purchases raw materials under advances licence & supervises the processing of goods inthe plants of its processors. It has acquired experience related to manufacturing by deputing its personnel to the plants of its processors to ensure quality & relisability of output & adherence to time schedule.
