The Comp. was incorporated as Pvt. limited Comp. on 21st July, 1970 & subsequently became a deemed Public Limited Comp. under Section 43[1As] on 15.6.1988 & subsequently by special resolution passed by shareholders at EGM held on 27.5.1992 the restrictions U/s 3[is][iiis] of Act were deleted from the Articles of Association of Comp. & Comp. as such became Public Limited Comp. within the meaning of 3[is][ivs] of Act. The Comp. had taken over the business, assets liabilities of 'Alcobex Metal Corporation'.

A firm namely Alcobex Metals Corporation was promoted by Shri G.C.Kanunga, as a partnership concern in 1960 with Mr. L.C.Kanunga, A.R.Kanunga B.R.Kanunga & their associates, & was taken over by Alcobex Metals [Ps] limited on 1st August 1970. In 1988 is became a deemed Public Limited Comp. on 15.6.88 & later on converted into Public Limited Comp. on 27.5.1992.

Shri G.C.Kanunga commenced his association with non-ferrous metal industry by trading in aluminum anodised constume jewellery in 1952-54 & setting up a manufacturing unit in Calcutta in 1955.
