The Comp. was incorporated as a private limited Comp. on 02-12-1919 & converted into a public Comp. on 27th April, 1972.

The Comp. is engaged in marketing and rendering technical services of imported & indigenous machine tools, industrial machinery, rubber and plastic machinery, pulverising equipment, machine shop equipment, small tools etc.

The Comp. entered into technical collaboration agreement with Francis Shaw and co. [Manchesters] Ltd., U.K. & is manufacturing intermixes, Shear Strip Tyre Vulcanising presses, & tube Vulcanising presses.

The Comp. also manufactures sophisticated numerical control horizontal Spindle, Jig Boring & milling machine in Collaboration with Devlieg Machine Co., U.S.A.

Herbert Holdings limited & Herbert Electronics limited are the Subsidiaries. Though its in house R&D, the Comp. has developed new producgs like a sophisticated paper cutting machine, tyre curing presses, etc.
