ALL METAL PROCESS INDUSTRIES LTD [formerly Welplan Construction Comp. Ltd.s] was incorporated on 27th February 1985, under the name of Welplan Construction Comp. Ltd.
The Comp. was engaged in the construction business. On 1st July 1992 a Comp. named All Metal Process Industries Ltd. was amalgamated with Welplan Construction Comp. Ltd., subsequent to which Welplan Construction Comp. Ltd discontinued its construction business and took over the existing steel processing activities of All Metal Process Industries limited Subsequently to take advantage of the goodwill created by All Metal Process Industries Ltd, name of Welplan Construction Comp. Ltd was changed to All Metal Process Industries limited with effect from 25th May 1993.
The erstwhile All Metal Process Industries Ltd was started as a partnership firm in 1978, under the name All Metal Process Industries, by Mr Ashok Kapoor and Mr Sharat Kumar Lilha. This firm set up a small unit in Bhandup, Bombay, for pickling and oiling of HR strips and coils. The unit was then shifted to Wagle Industrial Estate, Thane in 1979 & its activities were expanded from pickling and oiling to decoiling, leveling, shearing and slitting of HR strips & coils. The firm was then converted into a Pvt limited company in April 1989 and subsequently into a Public Ltd Comp. on 25th March 1992. Subsequently, under the scheme of amalgamation All Metal Process Industries Ltd was amalgamated by an order dated 31/3/93 with Welplan Construction Comp. Ltd & the erstwhile All Metal Process Industries Ltd was dissolved without winding up.
After obtaining the change of name approval from the Registrar of Companies the name of Welplan Construction Company Ltd was changed to All Metal Process Industries Ltd and a certificate to that effect was obtained from the Registar of Companies, Maharashtra, Bombay on 25/3/93.
In order to have all stages of steel processing under one umbrella the Comp. took over a sick unit situated at MIDC, Taloja on 17th Aug. 1993. which had heating furnace & rerolling facilities. This sick unit was purchased from Bee-Jay Non-Ferrous Re-Rollers [Ps] limited at a total cost of Rs. 65 lacs. None of Directors/Promoters of AMPIL are interested in this deal.
