Originally the Comp. was a wholly owned Subsidiary of Maheshwari Mills Ltd.,which in turn was a subsidiary of Piramal Spg.& Wvg. Mills ltd. with effect from 28th December, 1977 it became a wholly owned subsidiary of Piramal Spg.& Wvg.Mills Ltd.

Effective from 10th November, 1986, the Comp. name was changed to 'Amal Rasayan Ltd.' from Piramal Rasayan Ltd.

2008 -Company name has been changed from Amal Products Ltd to Amal Ltd.
