History of Arlabs Ltd.

Arlabs began operations in 1940 as a partnership firm under the name Associated Research Laboratory. It was converted into a private Limited Comp. in 1954 & to a public limited Comp. in 1962 with Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra at Bombay. The Comp. started with the manufacture of Stabilized Azoics popularly called Rapid Fast Dyes. Initially the product lacked fineness, but the R&D department improved the process such that the rejection levels came down to 0.5% within two years. The Comp. later moved on to the manufacture of Solubilised Vat Colours such as Arlindone Blue & Arlindone Brilliant Green. The Comp. then increased its range to cover a number of Solubilised Vat Colours. The R&D Department was active throughout improving process of manufacture & also developing novel processes for manufacture of various dyes. From 1985, the Comp. began manufacture of Pesticides, Pharma Raw Materials & Organic Compounds.
