History of Diana Tea Comp. Ltd.

DTCL was incorporated on the 26th day of August, 1911 under the Indian Companies Act VI of 1882 with the main object of carrying on tea business which includes, inter alia, cultivation, manufacturing & selling of tea. The company was promoted by Nawab Gulam Jabbar and family & originally owned one tea estate namely the Diana Tea Estate. The Company was taken over by present owners i.e. the Singhania family of Calcutta in 1976. The Comp. acquired one more tea estate namely Baintgoorie Tea Estate from Duncans in 1983. The Comp. is now operating the above two tea gardens & both the tea gardens are located in the district of Jalpaiguri of West Bengal.

The Comp. has a track record of excellent industrial relations. So far, the Comp. has not lost a single man hour due to labour problems. There is no ending legal disputes in respect of labour.
