History of Dolphin Laboratories Ltd.

The Comp. was incorporated on 9th July, 1951 as Dolphin Pharmaceutics Limited by a group of promoters from Hyderabad & Calcutta. The name of Comp. was changed to Dolphin Laboratories Limited with effect from 4th April 1952. The Comp. was converted into a Private Limited Comp. in the year 1956. In the year 1971 Gandhis, who were in trading business of pharmaceutical products took over the controlling interest in the Comp. & set up the unit at Calcutta in the year 1975. The Comp. became a deemed public Comp. with effect from 30th September 1988 & adopted a new set of Articles of Association on 18th November 1992, as applicable to Public Limited Companies.
