HISTORY AND PRESENT BUSINESS OF THE COMPANY

M/s. Hanuman Tea Comp. Limited was incorporated on 30th October, 1961 with the main objects to acquire tea garden,cultivation, manufacture & sale of tea. The Certificate of Commencement was obtained on 8th December, 1961. In pursuance of its objects the Comp. acquired one tea garden in Upper Assam in the name of Sonajuli Tea Estate with a grant area of 928 hectres in October, 1961. The Sonajuli Tea estate earlier belonged to The Empire Of India and Ceylon Tea Co. limited & was under management control of M/s. Gillanders Arbuthnot and Co. limited until the same was taken over by Company. The plantation are of said tea estate was gradually increased by present management from 390 hectres at the time of acquisition, to approximately 559 hectres as at present, & as a result the annual production of tea was also increased over the said period from 3.61 lac kg to 9.26 lac kg. In addition to tea plantation, the Comp. diversified into production & sales of packet tea with initial test marketing since 1991-92.

The Comp. has a record of uninterrupted divided payment since 1985. The Comp. has also made two bonus issues in the past by capitalising the undistributed profits.
