Mr. K C Palanisamy, 60 years old, promoted KKPL as a Private Limited Comp. in 1991 which was subsequently converted into a public limited Comp. in April 1995.

Karur KCP Packaging Limited was promoted by Mr. KC Palanisamy in 1991 & at present is engaged inj the business of manufacturing HDPE/PP bags & fabric. The manufacturing facility is located at Mayanur, Kulithalai Taluk, Trichy District. It caters to the requirement of cement companies like Indian Cements, Madras Cements, chettinad Cements, Priya Cements & Rajashree Cements. The Comp. now proposes to set up a plant to manufacture Extensible Sack Kraft Paper. The Comp. is importing a second hand plant from Carteira Mota Grappa, North Italy witha capacity to product 60 TPD.

KC Palanisamy and Co., commenced business by refurbishing jute bags. Subsequently, the firm started supplying new jute bags to its customers. In 1986, KC Palanisamy and Co. started shifting its product to paper bags in line with the packaging demands of cement companies. The firm buys extensibnle sack kraft paper mainly fromBallarpur Industries Ltd., some of requirements arte also met by imports from Sweden & Indonesia. The firm produced around 24.5 million paper bages during the yead ended March 31, 1995.

The new paper project is a backward integration project for group. Extensible Sack Kraft Paper will be supplied to KCP and Co. which will in turn make paper bags for supply to various cement companies. At presetn, KCP and Co requirements of raw material are emt by BILT & by imports.
