History of Kinetic Capital Finance Ltd.

The Comp. was incorporated as a private KINETIC CAPITAL FINANCE LIMITED on 12th October 1990 & certificate of commencement ofbusiness was obtained on November 1st 1990 with an authorised capital of Rs.325 lakhs which has been subsequently raised to Rs.525 lakhs.

CAPITAL TRUST LIMITED, already enlisted at Delhi Stock Exchange, is a Category i Merchant Banker approved by Securities & Exchange Board of India engaged in Merchant Banking & related activities. Capital Trust Limited is also a Consultant/Adviser in India for Berliner Bank, Germany & Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The Investment Information & Credit Rating Agency of India Limited, Delhi [IICRAs] has assigned 'MA+' rating to the fixed deposit Programme of Capital Trust Limited. The 'MA+' rating stand for adequate safety for medium term investments including fixed deposits. CTL activities include Hire Purchase & Leasing.

The Comp. was incorporated as a private limited Comp. on 8th October, 1970. The Memorandum of Association & Articles of Association were subscribed by Shri. N.K.Firodia & Shri. H.K.Firodia. Pursuant to Section 43 A of Companies Act, 1956, the Comp. became a deemed public limited Comp. w.e.f. 1st October, 1975 & accordingly the Certificate of incorporation was amended by Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra, Bombay on 9th February, 1976. It became a widely held Comp. & made a public issue in the year 1978.

The Comp. started producing Mopeds under the brand name Luna in January, 1972. The Luna moped was totally designed & developed indigenously by Company own R&D team & was probably the first motor vehicle in India to have been developed from totally indigenous know-how. The new vehicles which the Comp. later on added to its range were also developed indigenously.

The Comp. has been continuously upgrading its existing products & adding new models. Presently, the Comp. is producing 3 models, namely Luna, Spark & Safari & offering wide variants in each of these classes of products. The Comp. is also commercially producing auto components. In 1984, the Comp. jointly with Honda Motor Company, Japan promoted a new company, Kinetic Honda Motor Limited to manufacture scooters based on the latest & new generation technology from Honda Motor Comp. Limited, Japan.

With a view to promote sale of products, the Comp. has promoted 3 joint venture finance companies namely 20th Century Kinetic Finance Limited, Integrated Kinetic Finance Limited & Kinetic Capital Finance Limited.

In 1992, the Comp. has indigenously developed a unique Colour Television set based on digital technology. The Comp. has developed micro-processor decks which when interfaced would enable the TV to function as Home Computer cum Hi-Fi Stereo. The commercial production of TV has commenced.

The turnover the Comp. has increased from Rs.14.49 lakhs during 1971-72 to Rs.110.32 crores during 1992-93.
