Naina Semiconductor Limited [NSLs] was promoted by Mr. Kapil Mohan Mehta in the joint sector with UP Hill Electronics Corporation Limited [HILTRONs], a State Development Corporation. NSL is engaged in the manufacture of low power Rectifier Diodes [RDss] with an annual installed capacity of 118.750 million nos. of 1 amp. & 3 amp. range at Village Padampur Devalia, P.O. Mota Haldu [Haldwanis], Distt. Nainital, a `A' category less developed area in Uttar Pradesh. The Comp. was incorporated on 06.09.1988 and obtained the Certificate of Commencement of Business on 24.10.1988.

The Comp. commenced its commercial production in July 1991. Initially the Comp. introduced 1 amp. & 3 amp. regular diodes in 1991-92. These were well received in the market. The next range of products introduced in the market was the fast recovery diodes in 1 amp. & 3 amp. range in 1992-93. During 1993-94 the Comp. further introduced & has successfully test marketed other low power devices like high efficiency, super efficiency, glass passivated & schottky diodes.
