Overseas Cable Limited was incorporated on 22.12.1989 with the ROC, Jalandhar. The Comp. took certificate to commence business on 13.02.1990. The Comp. has its Registered Office at 105, Krishna Nagar, The Mall, Shimla [H.Ps]. The Comp. has been promoted by Shri Harjinder Singh, an Electrical Engineer, having around 13 years' experience in the Cable Industry. In the first phase, the Company set-up a unit to manufacture PVC power cables at Focal Point, Rajpura Dist., Patiala, with an installed capacity of 1377 Kms/Annum. The commercial production of the Comp. started in the month of August 1991. In 1993 it intiated expansion cum diversification to increase the capacity of PVC power cables from 1377 to 3300 Kms PA. and to manufacture XLPE cables with an installed capacity of 5100 Kms/annum at a total estimated outlay of Rs. 551.40 Lacs. Towards meeting the requirement of funds, the Company successfully entered capital market with a public issue of Rs. 416 lakhs in December, 1993. The commercial production of the expansion cum diversification to manufacture XLPE cables has commenced from 5th December, 1994.
