History of Orbit Exports Ltd.

Orbit Exports Limited was originally incorporated in the State of Maharashtra on 16th September, 1983 in the name & style of Orbit Exports Private Limited. It was subsequently changed to a Public Limited Comp. under section 31/44 of companies Act 1956 & the Comp. obtained fresh certificate of Incorporation dated 30th September, 1994 confirming the conversion of Comp. from private limited to public limited Company.

The Registered office of Comp. is located at Divya Darshan, Ground Floor, 32, 2nd, Fofalwadi, Bhuleshwar, Kalbadevi Road, Bombay 400002.

The Comp. is engaged in the manufacture & trading of Jacquard fabrics & Velour de Lyons [Fine Velvetss] which are used for dress material, drapery and trimmings. The Comp. first set up a sophisticated plant in 1986 with Italian Vamatex Looms & Staubil jacquards to make fancy jacquard fabrics. After the tremendous success of this unit a second unit was set up in 1993-94 with Japanese Looms & French & Wast German equipment to manufacture 'Velour de Lyons' [Fine Velvetss]. The Company range of products is augmented by sourcing complimentary cheaper fabrics on a job work basis. The Comp. is the sole buying agent for woven & knitted menswear & leather garments for M/s. Casket Plc a GBP 100 Million turnover leading garment importer in U.K. The Comp. also acts as buying agents & exporters to Savile Row trading Co., Hawkshead & Mc Bride Fashions in U.K. The Comp. is in the process of expanding its activity in North America Australia and Europe.
