History of Orton synthetics Ltd.

The Comp. has been promoted by Shri Rajan J. Mehra & Shri Sachin J. Mehra, Shri Rajan J. Mehra is a Director of Comp. who has been associated with the Project since its inception. He is a Commerce Graduate from the University of Bombay & also holds a Masterr Degree in Business Management from the Darden Business School at the University of Virginia, U.S.A., He has undergone practical training in textile units in india & acquired necessary experience in various aspects of designing, fabric making, processing & marketing of synthetic textiles.

Shri Sachin J. Mehra is a Commerce Graduate & has undergone practical training in the textile industry. He has also participated in Harvard University Business Case Study Programme in the summer of 1990. He has about 4 years' experience in marketing of synthetic/blended fabrics.

There are no other companies/firms promoted by Promoters of Company. There are no pending litigations, disputes, defaults, proceedings initiated for economic offences against the Promoters/Promoter-companies & firms.

Incorporated as a Private Limited Comp. in the name & style of Orton Synthetics and Realtys Private Limited on the 25th September, 1989 under the Companies Act, 1956. The Company name was changed to Orton Synthetics Private Limited, by passing the necessary Resolution under Section 21 of Act on the 10th September, 1990. Fresh certificate of incorporatiion obtained on the 1st October, 1990. The Comp. was converted into a Public Limited Comp. by passing a Special Resolution at its Extra Ordinary General Meeting on the 22nd May, 1992 & obtained fresh change of name certificate on conversion from the Registrar of Companies Bombay, on 3rd July, 1992. With a view to establishing the brand name & a suitable distribution network, the Comp. has, for almost 3 years, been in the business of : i. studying the market trends with regard to fashions and zonal preference, & developing suitable qualities and designs of fabrics while simultaneously identifying consumption patterns; ii. Purchasing grey cloth on the basis of designs and qualities specified by company marketing team; iii. Getting the custom-made grey-cloth processed on a job-work basis in process houses as also. iv. marketing the fabrics under the brand name 'Orton'.

The Comp. has commenced partial commercial production of Texturised Yarn.
