History of Oswal Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd.

The Comp. was incorporated as a Private Limited Comp. on 17th Novemeber, 1981 & it became a Public Limited Comp. on 29th January, 1982. The Comp. was engaged in the business as importers of synthetic and wool wastes. During 1985-86, the Comp. acquired an existing agro-products industrial complex at Dewas near Indore in Madhya Pradesh. This complex comprised facilities for manufacture of integrated agro-products viz. Vegetable Oil refinery, hydrogenation plant & flour mill. Subsequently, a Vanaspati [vegetable ghees] plant with an installed capacity of 22,500 tonnes per annum was established at Mandideep near Bhopal. The vanaspati products are marketed under the trade name of `TARUN'.

The Comp. has changed its name in sept. 1995 to ' Oswal Chemicals & Fertilisers Limited'.

2002

-Fire breaks out in a sulphur godown of Comp. in Paradip.

2003

-Shifts the Investor service cell to 7th floor Anthriksh Bhawan, 22, Kasturba Gandhi Marg, New Delhi - 1.

-Gets Corporate Debt Restructuring approval for its restructuring package.

-Orissa government orders institution of Criminal proceedings against the Comp. over pollution.

2005

-Kribhco picks up Oswal urea unit for Rs 1,900cr
