History of Ram Leather Exports Ltd.

The Comp. was incorporated as a Private limited Comp. on 18.01.1988 & converted into a Public Ltd Comp. from 30.3.1992 as per Certificate of Incorporation issued by Registrar of Companies, Pondicherry with Registered Office at Pondicherry. Commercial Production started on 18.01.1991, to manufacture leather shoe uppers. The factory is situated at Vadamangalam in the Union Territory of Pondicherry. Ram Leather Exports Ltd is promoted by Mr. T.S. Janaki Raman.

The Comp. proposes to set up capacity to manufacture 500 pairs of full shoes, 150 leather garments, 900 purses & 150 handbags per day. The entire production of existing capacity of shoes uppers will be fully utilised for captive consumption to manufacture full shoes. The entire production of all items will be exported, barring certain percentage of rejections which will be sold in the local market [2%s]. The Comp. has an export obligation of 75% of total production.
