History of Remsons Industries Ltd.

Remsons Industries limited was incorporated as REMSONS CABLES [Ps] LTD. on 11/5/1971 with ROC, Maharashtra. Subsequently the Comp. was converted into a Public Ltd Comp. in terms of special resolution passed on 25th October, 1986 & name of Comp. was subsequently changed to Remsons Cables limited and a fresh certificate for change of name was obtained from ROC on 18th November, 1986. The Comp. thereafter has received fresh certificate of incorporation consequent on change of name from Remsons Cables limited to Remsons Industries limited from ROC on 18th November, 1986. The Comp. is having its Registered Office at 88-B, Govt. Industrial Estate, Kandivli [Wests], Bombay - 400 067.

The Company name 'Remsons' is well known in the Automobile industry, promoted by Shri. Vishwaprakash Harlalka. The Comp. is presently engaged in the manufacturing of Control Cables for Automobile & General Engineering purposes, Brake Liners & Brake shoes. The Company has totally eight manufacturing units out of which two units are located at Kandivli [Ws], Bombay, three units are at Daman, one unit at Gurgaon in the State of Haryana, one unit at Pardi [Gujarats] & one is in Koregaon, Bhima Dist. Pune. The units located at Bombay, Daman, Pardi & Gurgaon are engaged in the manufacturing of Auto Cords and Auto Control Cables, whereas the unit located at Pune is engaged in the manufacture of Brake Shoes & General Brake Liners along with Control Cables.

The Comp. since its commercial production activities at its all plants had not faced major labour problems, which has resultant into the closure of unit.

The Comp. has an in house Research and Development [R and Ds] Department with a team of qualified professionals which has enabled the Comp. to match the changing needs of Automobile Manufacturers & also to develop high value added products. Remson R and D continue to be technology innovative & continue to develop new methods to produce Bowden Cables that meet the special demands of customers new technologies. The Comp. has produced 'Friction Free Cables' with the invention of Polysil with its own know how which is import substitute & eventually millions of foreign exchange of country is saved. The continuous R and D activities has kept the Comp. with the pace of the automobile industry or rather a step ahead of them. All the machines & equipments required have been designed, developed & erected on the technology developed by Shri. V. Harlalka & the R and D team.

2000 - Mr. Ming Ching Tan has been appointed as Director & Mr. Sher Singh appointed as Wholetime Director.

2002 - Mr Sher Singh has been reappointefd as hole Time Director of Comp. w e f July 01, 2002 for a period of one year.

- Remsons Industries Ltd has informed that Mr. K Kejriwal & Mrs. C Kejriwal, whose 3 [threes] years term of appointment as Managing Director & Whole-time Director respectively expired on March 31, 2007, have been re-appointed as Managing Director & Whole-time Director of Company, subject to the approval of Members at its ensuing Annual General Meeting of Company.
