History of Riverdale Foods Ltd.

The Comp. was incorporated on 14th February, 1990 under the name of Riverview Farms Private Limited for carrying on the business of poultry farming & breeding. The name of the Comp. was subsequently changed to Riverdale Foods Private Limited vide special resolution passed at the EGM held on 18th April 1994. The Comp. was converted to a Public Limited Comp. on 20th July 1994.

The necessary certificate of change of name from Riverdale Foods Private Limited to Riverdale Foods Limited has been obtained vide certificate dated 13th September 1994 from Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra.

The Comp. was originally incorporated for carrying on the business of Poultry Farming & Breeding. However, it couldn't undertake the project due overall recession faced by poultry industry during that period. Therefore, the promoters consciously decided to concentrate on the broiler breeding activity carried on by group companies. Subsequently, as the industry started recovering from its bad phase during 1992, the prospects of poultry industry looked bright. There was also an upsurge in demand of poultry meat which was due to the unprecedented hike in prices of other meat substitutes like fish, mutton etc. Realising this the promoters decided to setup the present process of poultry processing plant to cater to the increasing demand for poultry meat.
