History of Rohit Ferro-Tech Ltd.

The Comp. was incorporated on 7th April 2000 under the Companies Act, 1956, as a Private Limited Comp. & as such did not require any certificate for commencement of business. Pursuant to the conversion of the Comp. from a Private Limited Comp. to a Public Limited Company on the 24th June 2004, the name of Comp. was changed from Rohit Ferro-Tech Private Limited to Rohit Ferro-Tech Limited.

The Comp. belongs to Impex Group having interest in Ferro Alloys.

Mr. Suresh Kumar Patni, Chairman Cum Managing Director, has promoted the Company, & is well known in the eastern Region Ferro Alloys Industry.

The Comp. has carved a niche for itself as a leading producer of High Carbon Ferro Chrome. The Comp. has also got ISO 9001:2000 certification assuring high standard quality adherence for it products.

The Comp. was promoted with the intention to set up a Ferro Alloy Plant. In the year 2002, on the announcement of industry promotion schemes of State of West Bengal, mainly beneficial for power intensive industries, the Company decided to set-up a Ferro Alloy Plant with Two Sub-merged Arch Furnaces of 9 MVA capacity each at Bishnupur Industrial Growth Centre in Bankura District of West Bengal where the Comp. was assured of receiving power subsidy for 6 years. Moreover, the Comp. also got the benefit by the Income Tax Holiday to the extent of 100% for first 5 years, & 30% for next five years of it operation for setting up the plant at Industrial Backward Area notified by Central Government.

The Comp. started commercial production of manufacturing High Carbon Ferro Chrome [HCFeCrs] in October 2003 & produced more than 9000 MT during the initial five months of operation ending FY 04. The Comp. also exported 28% of it production during that financial year. In view of increase in demand for product both in domestic and international market, the Comp. thought of expanding it capacity by adding another Furnace of 9 MVA capacity. The 3rd furnace started its production from April `2005.

The Comp. now proposes to manufacture Ferro Manganese [FeMns] and Silico Manganese [SiMns] at its proposed Jajpur Plant.
