History of Tai Chonbang Textile Industries Ltd.

YEAR EVENTS 1993 - TAI CHONBANG TEXTILE INDUSTRIES LIMITED was incorported on August 19, at Calcutta, West Bengal vide registration no. 21-59820 of 1993. Subsequently, the Comp. obtained the certificate for Commencement of Business from the Registrar of Companies, West Bengal on August 23.

- The Comp. is a joint venture of Tai Industries Limited, India, a Comp. floated by promoters of Tashi Group of Companies of Bhutan, along with Tashi Commercial Corporation of Bhutan, an associate of Tashi Group, & Collaborators M/s Chonbang Comp. Limited, & MES Corporation, both of South Korea.

- The Comp. proposes to set up a 100% Export Oriented Unit for manufacture of 20s carded & 30s combed 100% cotton yarn at village Naranpura, Taluka Sananda, District Ahmedabad in Gujarat.

1996 - During the year under report, the construction of Factory Building has been completed & the machinery has also been installed.

- The plant of Comp. is equipped with 23,280 spindles, Blow Room Machinery, Carding Machines, Lap Former, Winder, Steam Setter & Auxuliary items.

- The Comp. has secured H.T.Supply [2300 KVAs] from the Gujarat Electricity Board for running its Mills Company.

- Mr. H.E. Kim retires by rotation & being eligible offers himself for re-appointment.

1997 - Under the Expansion Programme the installed capacity of plant will be increased from 23280 spindles to 54032 spindles by installing 30752 imported Second Hand Reconditioned Spindles.

1999 - 2 D.G.Sets of SKL, Germany have been erected & started functioning from 3rd Week of July. 6 Nos. RIETER Draw Frames from Switzerland have also been received, erected & put in operation also from 3rd Week of July. The U.T-4 [Uster Yarn Testing Equipments] has also been received & commissioned.

2000 - The Comp. has diversified into software Business & entered into MoU with Optimos Group of USA for said business & started activity from 01-09-2000 from company own premises at Ahmedabad.

- During the year under report the Comp. has been awarded the International Gold Star for quality award by Business Initiative Directions, Madrid, Spain.

- The Comp. has also secured registration as ISO 9002 for its quality system under the American National Standard Institute American Society for quality vide certificate of registration bearing No.9910211 dated 25th February, issued by KPMG Peat Marwick, Quality Registrar.
