The Comp. was incorporated on 13/05/1988 and has been promoted by Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited Madras and Telecommunication Consultants India Limited [TCILs], New Delhi. The Comp. undertook to set up a project for manufacture of Polyethylene Insulated Jelly-filled telecommunication cables [PIJFTs] with Technical knowhow from the Essex Group Inc of USA.

-Tamilnadu Telecommunications Ltd has informed BSE that Shri Arun Ramanathan IAS, Chairman & Managing Director, Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited has been appointed as Director & Chairman on the Board of Tamilnadu Telecommunication Limited in place of Shri M Madhavan Nambiar, IAS who has relinguised the office & ceased to be Director, consequent to his inter departmental transfer.
