History of Translam Ltd.

TRANSLAM Limited having its Registered Office at G-81, Preet Vihar, Delhi was originally incorporated as a Private Limited Comp. under the Companies Act, 1956 on 29th November, 1988 under the name & style of TRANSLAM Private Limited. The Comp. was converted into a Public Limited Comp. in terms of Special Resolution passed on 1st July, 1994 under the Companies Act, 1956. A fresh certificate of incorporation was obtained from the Registrar of Companies, Delhi and Haryana, New Delhi on 4th August, 1994.

The Comp. was originally set up to manufacture lamination of transformer. It purchased a sick Vegetable Oil Refinery unit from the Pradeshiya Industrial and Investment of U.P. limited in November 1990 at Gajraula [U.P.s]. After making necessary changes/addition in the plant & machinery & buildings, the unit started commercial production in April, 1992. The Comp. incurred losses in the first year of operation due to shortage of Working Capital & general recession in the Industry. Therefore, it started operating on Job/facility charges basis w.e.f. 1-12-1993.

The vegetable oil refinery is within the perview of object clause of Comp. [permitted by Other Objects clause No.4 of Memorandum of Associations].
