History of Trend Designs Ltd.

The main promoter of Comp. is Shri Sebastian Chokkattu, a Hong Kong based Non Resident Indian. Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation limited has joined as a co-promoter.

The Comp. was incoporated on 07/07/1992 as Trend Apparel Accessories Pvt limited in the state of Kerala with its Registered Office at No. 318 Panampilly Nagar, Cochin-682015 for manufacture of ready made garments & allied products. On April, 3rd 1993, the Comp. was converted into Public Limited Comp. & its name was changed as TREND DESIGNS LTD. The registered office of Comp. was changed to No. 20, Cochin Export Processing Zone, Kakkanadu, Cochin-682 030.

The cost of Phase I, as appraised by KSIDC, was at Rs. 196.00 lakhs. The Comp. has incurred Rs. 141.27 lakhs towards fixed capital expenditure & net current assets upto 30/06/93 & this was financed by term loan of Rs. 81.80 lakhs from KSIDC & promoter contribution of Rs. 59.47 lakhs. The Comp. has already installed 294 machines out of 334 envisaged for Phase i & has started commercial production [Phase Is] from 1st April 1993 as per the schedule.

The Comp. has established the Phase i of project in Cochin Export Processing Zone for manufacture of garments with an installed capacity of 1.65 lakhs dozens of T-Shirts per annum. Commercial production commencd from 01/04/1993.

To carry on the business of manufacturers, processors, traders, importers, exporters & otherwise dealers in fabrics, textile goods, garments including leather garmetns & garment accessories including labels, zippers, buttons & padding materials.
